The last day of soccer camp was a mini World Cup for the kids. There are two 4-5year old groups and they had a little scrimmage against each other. To get the kids excited they were told to dress like a certain team. Diego's team dressed up like Team Italy & the other like Team Brazil. It was very cute to watch and the kids had tons of fun....they painted their faces and hair and showed up with mini flags for their countries. The first set of pics is of Diego in his uniform with blue hair...the next set is of the kids playing their games.

2 Months Old
Here is my little 2 month old. He coos and smiles and laughs all of the time. He is really a very easy baby. He had his 2 month checkup which included 5, yucky shots. I hate it when the kids get shots. When the nurse was writing down his measurements she said he was the size of a 4 month old baby. He weighed in at 14lbs 10oz (97th percentile) and measured 23 3/4inches (75th percentile) long. He is definitely my little chunky monkey. Vince has two nicknames for him Pudge & Gordo. I don't like either one and Nana Alice (Vince's mom) gives him a dirty look whenever she hears him call him either name. Alice grew up in a small town where EVERYONE had nicknames...mostly lovingly derrogatory...so she has always disliked giving out nicknames. Alice is in a few of the pics below holding Antonio.
Day Two--Soccer
We made it to the sporting goods store and bought Mr. Diego cleats, shin guards and soccer shorts. He is so proud of these things that he insisted on wearing them all night. He is having a blast in the camp and it is so cute watching these little guys out there.
British Soccer Camp
Diego started a one week soccer camp today. It's hosted by a group of coaches from the UK and very popular around here. Here are pics from day one where the kids are split up into 'teams'. Diego is the only one not wearing cleats and shin guards...I had no idea they made these for 4 year olds or that they would ALL be wearing them. I guess we'll be heading to Academy Sports this evening.
Diego had a great time. It is obvious that organized sports is new to him because I caught him standing around a few times just watching what was going on.
His coach told me this was normal for the first day.
Helping Daddy
Vince mowed the yards today (ours & Alice's) and Diego and Adelina went outside to help. Diego is using the blower to clean the walk and Adelina is just out there looking pretty

Thursday already...
This week has just zoomed by. Antonio's eye looks much better. I forgot to mention, but Antonio had his first 'real' smile on Father's Day. I told Vince that was his present from Antonio. Vince was holding him last night and he was just smiling away. I made sure to catch it.
Of course, as soon as I took out the camera Diego & Adelina said 'take my picture, too'.
They're here
My half brother and his family are here from Hawaii! Miles & Sherri, Ramsey (12), Gavin (8), Tiare (2). It has been 5 years since we'd seen them...they've never met my kids and we hadn't met Tiare yet. Last time we saw them was when Vince & I went to Maui in 2001. Everyone is pooped from the trip and jetlagged. I got in the pool with all the kids and we had a good time. They don't live very far from the ocean, but they rarely go to the beach to go swimming, so the kids were excited. My kids loved meeting their cousins.
Happy Father's Day!
A wonderful day and a great weekend. We spent most of the weekend just playing with the kids and it was loads of fun. Vince took the kids swimming both days and was so surprised to see how much confidence they have in the water now that they've had some swimming lessons. As long as they have their noodles, they swim all over the pool. Antonio kept taking short naps, so I only got in the pool with Vince & the kids once...when Antonio is a little older I'll get him out there with us on one of the baby floats. It's just so stinking hot here...even with sunscreen I don't want him out in the sun too much.
Swim Lessons
The kids have been in swim lessons all week and today was the last day. The lessons are one-on-one taught by the PE teacher from a local elementary school and a girl on a college swim team. They teach them at their home in 30 minute increments. The first day I wasn't so sure how it was going to go because Diego is real skiddish in the water and Adelina just wants to be held. Both kids screamed & cried when we got there everday, so I would get in the Yukon and take a short drive everyday. As soon as I left they stopped crying, guess they didn't have an audience anymore. Here are some pics from the last day and as you can see the kids are swimming by themselves with the help of a fun-noodle and Diego even jumped off the diving board. Amazing!!!
